Google Calendar SMS - Vodacom issues

Thanks great news. Mine is also working.
I wonder who fixed this vodacom or google ?
 
I fixed it .... LOL - no just kidding, I would have if I could have, I have nothing to do with either party. Guess we will never know (unless vodacom tells us here) - bottom line it is all working again and may it stay that way.

Finally - the problem is resolved !!!
Thanks to the guys who notified Vodacon.

Sooo VodacomData - what did Vodacon do to rectify the problem on your side. No need for PR spin or blaming Google - other networks were fine.

Hi Guys

There was a job order that was done on one of our platforms to disable Alphanumeric checking for Network ID when receiving sms`s from Google to Vodacom subscribers.

I got a reminder for an appointment yesterday but just tested it today and seems that the SMS side is not working. Oh dear.

@VodacomData - is this perhaps linked into the absolutely abysmal 3G service and speeds of the last two weeks ?

Am thinking of dusting off my 56k modem and using Telkom again - the Vodacom 3G service has been that bad (both on Huawei and iPhone)

I noticed the same thing with my service a while back, and now all of a sudden this week the Google SMS reminders stopped coming through again. I was under the impression Vodacom is the leading cellular provider in SA....duh? Come on Vodacom...can you please sort it out?
 
VodacomData Said he was on it, but what is most frustrating is that this has been going on for exactly a week. And it happened 2 months ago aswell. kinda unacceptable i should think.
 
Still no news on the status of this .... how sad, oh well, will have to just try remember things until it is working again.
