Google Chrome is currently chewing Up tons of RAM when viewing HTML5 Videos. YouTube Steam Broadcasting anything HTML5  hope they fix this eventually because Google uses alot when its opened. dunno who the developer is but...... he is NOT! good at programming.

You can learn to live with chrome eating ram or you could use a proper browser like Firefox and make us of addons like Adblock.

Yeah because there is not an adblock for chrome :erm: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/ublock-origin/cjpalhdlnbpafiamejdnhcphjbkeiagm?hl=en
Also Chrome is more proper then weak ass Firefox https://html5test.com/results/desktop.html.

To the OP perhaps try a reinstall of Chrome. Don't have that problem...

Same here. Chrome is great for me.

And the integration with my Android is one of the most useful things I've found, ever. Not to mention the plugins automatically downloading if you log into your Google account on another PC, so you don't need to re-search and download each plugin on each PC you want to use it, like AdBlock, for example.

There is a fallacy out there that applications that use a lot of memory are bad. This is simply not true. Memory is there to be used, if it's unused then it's being wasted.

Your system will automatically allocate memory as it's needed, if Chrome is using up memory that needs to be used elsewhere then the system will free this memory up when required.

Obviously I'm not referring to apps with memory leaks, which is a different story and you generally determine if it's a leak only by running the app for a prolonged period of time.

Using a first gen i5 laptop atm with 2Gig RAM and a 128Gig SSD. I have up to 10 sites open at one time and more often than not stream content from the web and i can't say the system slows down at all.

You need to install Mint Cinnamon to have this awesomeness though.

It's a problem if you don't have a lot of ram, if say you have 2GB of ram you'll open less tabs in chrome than other browsers.
