Internet search giant Google began rolling out a new feature Tuesday called "Instant Previews" that allows Web surfers to sample a website without having to click through to the page.

I cant get seem to get google instant though for some reason. The function that gives you results as you type... why?

It is VERY slow! Hopefully it will improve in time as it is a nice feature.

It appears to me that google has been unveilling more and more things I want to switch off.

Sidebar, instant and now this.

It can only be as fast as your bandwidth which it is abusing.

Try... http://www.google.com/ncr After you have logged into your google/gmail account.
Then type in your search. Enter. Check at the right side of the search bar for the line "Instant is on/Instant is off". Set it to on.

Bing has actually had something similar since it launched (extract that pops up when you hover over the link). Google's looks a bit nicer though...
