How long ago did it leave the US. Post Box was better for me. It took 2-3 days. My only gripe was that the phone arrived at their depot on Friday and I only got the email on Tue, 4 days later. paid immediately and I got the phone on thursday.

It left Shipito on 6 November, this is really slow for the price... good old USPS might even have been faster. :whistling:
I've had much faster delivery times on my previous orders with TNT.

Side-note: FedEx International Priority is still the best (and most expensive) I've used.

@Michaelmw battery life looking pretty good...think I'll have a look at my usage stats today n compare

have any of you guys bought/used a wireless charging pad? beginning to think that could be a possible solution to the battery life - when the phone's running a bit low, just pop it on the charging pad n give it a quick boost..would be ideal because if you are like me and you sit at your desk most of the day, you would just leave it there n use it when needed...

was contemplating getting the TYLT Vu wireless charger from USA...which is probably the best one I have seen..but I decided to wait for a while and let the price come down and a concern I have with all wireless chargers is the back of the phone seems to get hot.
So I decided to wait some time, in the meantime I just carry a spare usb cable and connect it to my laptop to charge the phone if needed.

I love the design of the TYLT Vu, but it is way too pricey at the moment...

Oh and in other news- Google cancelled my second order :crying:

So I created a brand spanking new Gmail account and ordered from there... Let's see if this works. Apparently if your Google account was used in another country, Google will cancel your orders.

Greetings MyBB, Reiger from SAGamer here :)

Apologies for just banging into this thread, but it seems like this is the only local thread containing the most information on the Nexus 5.

I’m also keen on getting this device and I can’t really understand as to why any local provider doesn’t have any plans to stock this. Still looking at places and ways in order to get one (the VPN Google Play Store method doesn’t work for me at all).

Just the following questions to the few who already has it before I order it:

1) I’ve already read about the difference and compatibility of the EU and US models on our networks. Does any of you having any issues with the US model on Vodacom?

2) Hardware issues - I know this is a problem and a risk with any tech device, especially if you import it without any local support or warrenty to back it up. Last thing I want is to import a phone and I’m going to struggle with hardware issues. According to this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2509455 common issues with the Nexus 5 are apparently LCD backlighting issues, dead pixels, dust under the LCD screen, light bleed, loose power up and volume buttons, etc. Have any of you experienced any of these issues?

Thanks in advance.

Greeting and welcome to myBB.

1.) Model selling on the USA playstore where I and am sure many others bought theirs is the North American (D820) model:

GSM: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
CDMA: Band Class: 0/1/10
WCDMA: Bands: 1/2/4/5/6/8/19
LTE: Bands: 1/2/4/5/17/19/25/26/41

The model selling in UK/AUS play stores is the Rest of World (D821) model:

GSM: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
WCDMA: Bands: 1/2/4/5/6/8
LTE: Bands: 1/3/5/7/8/20

You may have an issue with LTE use only. I use Cell C and use 3g, hsdpa etc and no problems.

2.) That is a chance you take with all electronics nowdays...whether it is imported or not.
Have not experience those issue so far...touchwood...lol

just for reference I had bought 2 nexus 4s as gifts last year and both of them had no problems.

Slightly OT but I have found on my S4 that both those options are causing massive wakelocks and draining the battery badly, done a factory reset as well as a fresh Odin install and I always end up with the same problem. So back OT who has those options enabled and are you finding Google Services & Android OS skyrocketing in battery usage?

They do, regardless of your device.
