I got the Nexus 7 2013 and I think I would prefer the black one (matte sideband and not glossy) as I think it would feel better in the hands (just by conjecture)

However I think the White looks better just slightly.

I'll be sticking with the white one, seeing as I have the white Nexus 4. Have grown quite fond of the colour, and the white speaker grill juxtaposed against the black face is rather neat.
 
Aauurggh. Colleague of mine just got our phones. Did a Google Hangout with me and showed me the unboxing and bootup. Want it so badly - have to wait until end of November! :(
 
I ordered a white Nexus 5 32GB through a NY VPN on the 2nd.

It just left the UPS facility on its way to the shipment forwarding company in Oregon (I use Shipito + Oregon address = no sales tax). I just used a local Visa credit card and lied to Google Play with Shipito's forwarding address as the order billing address, didn't fully expect the payment to pass, but it did.

The total is 412.99 (Play Order) + ~44 (Shipment forwarding, TNT Express) = ~457 USD which is about R4600. Local tax will probably be either nothing or R200-ish, I lie on the customs declaration.

Expecting it to arrive Monday, 11 November.

Sjoe, lots of lies! But hope you get it - keep us in the loop!
 
Looks good in reviews so far. Camera seems bit disappointing but hopefully a software update will fix that.
 
I'm pretty sure the camera will get better with those updates. My Nexus is out for delivery in Oregon ATM, it's set to ship out automatically from the forwarding company.
 
Anyone getting someone to send them a phone from Australia?

I have family there and wondering if I should abuse them....
 
Two black 32GB's ordered via VPN, South Africa credit card, USA address. $430.94 each, 2-day shipping (to a USA address - I'll be there soon).

Status reported as a 2-3 week delay till shipping.
 
UPS is really slow . My N5 had been on the road since Sunday. was hopping it would ship to SA before the weekend

Should have done the same. I am hoping it get to the postbox courier depot tomorrow before the close for business. Having said that, its still afternoon US so there may still be hope.
