Yep, I'm not to fussed about the calibration either. Also MKBHD says that the screen brightness is fine even for viewing in sunlight so long as there is no glare. I hardly use my phone outside anyway so overall I'd still be keen to get one.

I haven't seen his review (yet), but I had a feeling that the objective failures of the screen would not transmit into an entirely horrible experience. I've only seen one review (Gizmodo) state that the brightness is an issue in direct sunlight, but others mentioned that on the adaptive lighting setting, the screen gets more than bright enough to compensate.

The size of the device is still most appealing to me in the end.

I see that the camera, too, is quite good- DxOMark have it very close to the camera on the S5. Still off the Apple iPhone 6, but I think next year's models will see the Apple lose its king of the hill status in that regard.

Although it might be big, the size is something you can get used to. Also I think with a large device like that, you won't need a tablet. Just one device instead of two.

Here is the review by him:

Which is the greatest appeal for me. I owned both the Nexus 5 and 7 at one point, and sold the 7 because of the limited use I had for it, while lamenting that the 5 couldn't provide those same functions as adequately (reading, video watching and games). The 6 bridges the gap nicely. The greater storage size (64Gb) certainly helps.

Seems like the NAND speed has been compromised by full disk encryption being enabled by default in Lollipop (on new devices). The AndEBench results paint a pretty important picture:

I hope that Google changes their policy of defaulting the encryption, or at the very least implements an encryption accelerator with an update for those who do not mind it being on. It really hammers I/O performance.

Thankfully, the geniuses at XDA have already found a way to disable it.

Well my Nexus 6 and Samsung Note Pro have just arrived . Iv spent 5 minutes with the Nexus 6 before putting it on charge and I am loving it . I really like the size and the way it feels in hand . Iv used big phones before like the Note 3 and this whilst this is a bit bigger one does not notice it due to the shape of the Nexus 6 , anyhow I took a couple of pics ,ill post them a little later with some more thoughts .

Here are some very quick pics of my New Nexus 6 and my Samsung Note Pro Tablet that arrived yesterday , I also got a couple of Spigen covers for the Nexus . Ill post a bit of a brief review later on today or this evening , but I am loving the Nexus . Iv already had 2 Updates come through on the device since last night and the Turbo charger on the Nexus is great , it really does charge up the device in no time .

Got it from Motorola in the US , I originally wanted the blue ,but after seeing the reviews and that it was a finger print magnet I opted for the white and I am very glad I did . It is not a bright white (Like the Samsung's for example) and really looks and feels very good . The phone just feels really good in hand ,extremely premium feel with really good build quality .

I had a choice between this and the Note 4 and I am really glad I opted for the Nexus 6 .especially now after having it in hand . I was wanting the 64gb version ,but there was No stock and it was back ordered , so I decided to go for the 32gb . The phone is crazy fast with No lag whatsoever , really great experience coming from Samsungs touchwiz (which I do not mind) .
