which also has multi colored LEDs at the bottom that dazzle you depending on your notifications, calls etc....
 
Tbh I think it's great for Google, but the fact that they don't do the hardware (which is fine for them seeing that they are software based) is the weak link with this device. Yes, I am an Apple fanboy, but I am openminded.

The only issue is that you now have to pay 17.5% VAT upon delivery in the UK, and then 14% VAT into South Africa. If you shipped with myus you would only have to pay the 14% VAT into South Africa.

I have an international proxy at work so when i go to google.com/phone it lets me go all the way through to payment... all i need is a myus.com address and i am A for away.

I assume if we import under customs heading 8517.12.0 (Telephones for cellular networks or for other wireless networks) then this is duty free so just VAT is applicable.

Total cost: R4500 + Delivery charges.
 
The nature of the selling of this phone means that Vodacom and MTN will not be selling it. Google may choose to offer it to South Africa and with a local network subsidised option maybe but I severely doubt it will be sold directly by one of our celluar providers.

This doesn't make sense - they worked closely with HTC during the production of this phone and Apple hardware isn't entirely made by Apple.

should be here sooner than the google phone thats for sure. and htc pricing in SA is pretty darn good
 
But the bravo doesnt have Google on the back of it! ;)
They don't engrave it for you either ... :P

no trackball, HTC has now ditched trackball (hero and magic had) and now have optical pad. (wonders why google chose this then)
google UI vs HTC UI. both will be good and will do exactly the same thing in the end.

oh and the Bravo apparently has HD video recording
 
Excuse my ignorance but does android have a decent app store? Does it have an appstore at all? If its does and its not up to the standard of the US apple app store on iPhone's I think I will stick to my curve 8900 and uprgade my iPod touch firmware for $7. Had an iPhone and loved it. Data charges where HUGE but I wasn't payig them. Thank the heavens for Blackberry included browsing. One or two quick questions a) why don't other manufactures have a Blackberry messsnger style app on their phone. I would have put it on if I were google and. B) what sort of data plan would you need from the networks for this. In the US and UK etc its all free browsing and downloads so these phones have tons of webapps that are simply to expensive to run here. So if the networks did bring it in would they give you all inclusive data or something?
 
androids appstore (market) which only started about a year ago already has over 100 000 FREE apps. (the joys of open source development) with far less stricter rules than apples store.
