Nope, you have to wait for a wave to appear, that will allow you to invite people.

I have 7 invites left!

A word of caution - Google Wave is bandwidth intensive - so if you've got a slow line, or expensive connection, best be careful.

Anyone have any benchmark as to how long these take to get to you? My mate sent me one yesterday and I still haven't recieved it.
