Govt proposes salary caps

Do these guys actually sit and plan how to completely destroy this country's economy or do they just sort of stumble into it?

Well have it affect everyone above 20k pretty badly means just about anyone with a tertiary education and a bit of xp will be getting screwed over. Don't all the dishonourable ministers earn above 550k? They certainly like to pretend they do...

One sure way to solve the brain drain, make them leave all at once, no more brain drain problem! GENIUS!

Won't work unless the whole planet agrees to such an idea. A massive exodus will occur.

Indeed. Only a good idea if you're a naive idealist. Here in the real world I'm afraid not

I was chatting to a very successful ZULU capitalist the other day.

He tells me that behind EVERY ANC functionary is a "CHAROU" -- each guy according to him has his OWN one. ( "advisor" )

What we are seeing here is straight out INDIAN socialist philosophy -- direct import from an Indian socialist think tank)

Really?...

Which Indian socialist philosophy are you talking about here MW?

Job creation is normally depended on a more work to be done, and companies expanding to do this work.
Capping salaries will make business more profit, but does not create more work.
Thus, this is the wrong solution to the problem of job creation.

more than R550 000 a year = earning over R20 000 a month ?:wtf:

The cap is at 550k/yr but they are suggesting only inflationary increases when you get to over R20k/mo. Theoretically with inflationary increases you're just staying in the same place relatively however it feels more like moving backwards. The govt says inflation = x% but when I go to the shops or look at new car prices etc it's a lot more than that...

Yip - R550,000/annum won't get you far in life, you'll drive a lower end middle class car - and live in a lower end middle class home.

Well at R550k the rest of us would be paying R150k in SITE+PAYE tax so cap the porkers at R400k.

REALLY !!!!!!!

Are you lazy or just stupid ????

SC refuses to dump 'socialism', still a must for all parties

NEW DELHI: It is close to two decades since India veered away from "socialism" to loosen the state's grip over the economy and to create a bigger play for market forces,
but
political parties must continue to declare allegiance to "socialism" enshrined in the Preamble of the Constitution to get recognition from Election Commission.

The Supreme Court on Monday refused to entertain a PIL against the anomaly.
Significantly, the top court cited an interesting reason to turn down the petition argued by senior advocate Fali S Nariman.
It said no political party, including those responsible for getting the state to vacate the "commanding heights" of the economy, had objected to being required to swear by socialism.

I HONESTLY do not know WHY i waste my time with you IDIOTS ??????

How does 20k a month equate to 550k a year? Inc a 13th check, 20k is 260k, even 30k is 390k, so you really mean anyone who earns in the region of 45k/month or higher. Or are we talking net here?

Is this for real? This is crazy.
I am sure nothing will come off it.
