Grassy Park 10Mbps Enabled..... so when do we get 10Mbps speed?

Hi

Grassy Park Exchange which is located in Wynberg.... http://www.broadbandstats.co.za/exchange/WGYK
has been 10Mbps enabled since Jul 2011 I think.

I've called Telkom continously asking can they upgrade my line but all I get is a no 4mbps is the highest we can set your line at.

Anyone got any news regarding the grassy park exchange for areas with 706 telephone prefixes?

I'm in Fernwood and we don't have 10mbps yet. Telkom website says max speed is 4mbps and broadbandstats.co.za says 10mbps.

I get a 404 on that link you sent me.

I'm almost 100% certain when I checked telkom's website last time it said 10Mbps enabled. I can't confirm this with that dsl checker not working.

Yip. Just did a test on my line number and here are the results below:

ADSL Support : Your exchange support ADSL
Max speed supported by your exchange: 10240

That means nothing. My line has been showing 10meg for the last 2 months. Phoning Telkom they say 'No'.

Oh Ok, i know there is a Fernwood in my area as well. is it possible to be moved to another exchange in Wynberg that is 10mb enabled.

Guys, check your line stats. I am connected to that wynberg exchange and my line is 10Mbps enabled but i can't even get a stable 4Mbps cos my attenuation is 50-52. SNR drops to 6 @ 4Mbps and 3 @ 5Mbps. I am in Kenwyn. I don't forsee this changing in the next decade.

That map isn't accurate, they say themselves it's a guess. The Grassy Park exchange definitely isn't actually in Wynberg that far from Grassy Park, it says the Bergvliet exchange is also in Wynberg and obviously it's not. It's just down the road from me.

But, our exchange is also listed as 10Mb since a few months back and we're also on 4mb. Haven't phoned Telkom yet as I'm stuck to 4mb uncapped in any case.

Alestorm you are correct, i saw the saw the same thing. my exchange is also not upgraded yet. its less then 100m from me. can i connect to the wynberg exchange. where is wynberg exchenge exactly.

Yeah. I called them again this weekend. Sorry sir 4mbps is the highest you can get. Call 10219 for more info on Monday? That is all I got from them. Doubt I'm getting 10mbps anytime soon.
