We are aware of your speed issues
Metrofibre Networx, our core fibre provider, is aware of an issue on the network which is causing some of our customers to experience slow speeds, web pages loading slowly or timing out, and problems accessing certain international sites.

Scheduled Maintenance
The engineers are busy with resolving this issue and network maintenance has been scheduled for the early hours of Wednesday morning 8th February to avoid mainstream disruption.

Down in Sunninghill Gardens since just before noon. Was up again for a short while and down again since 2. Always seems to be on a weekend and there is no concrete way to contact support. Trying not to be frustrated with the fact that this will likely only be resolved on Monday but honestly finding it hard. Don't even know if they know there is an issue now or not

They replied on Twitter that they are aware of the outage. Quite quickly for a weekend too. Guess I should be more patient

My connection has not improved since the scheduled maintenance on the 8th. That's nearly a month of piss-poor service from Greencom and MFN. Any chance of a refund?

Hi Guys ,

I am a director of Greencom and we are indeed rolling out in Sunninghill. You will see the fibre routes being created and our construction team is currently at Tana Road. With regards to Glenferness we are live and planing the connectivity to the clients who have signed up.

More info and contact details on www.greencom.co.za and we also have suburb sites www.suninghillfibre.co.za and glenfernessfibre.co.za

Feel free to contact me at any time if you require more info and our roll out plans in other areas.

Paul Colmer

Hi Paul

I've moved into barbeque downs and my apartment is fibre ready. I have applied online with Greencom back in December and have since not received any feedback. I have literally called Greencom more than 30 times since then. The phone just rings then get to a mailbox that is full. I've also sent mails but with no response. You guys have gone awol and this is my last hope of getting a response from anyone that is associated with this company. The complex is Morganwood. Please can you indicate what the roll out plan is?

Regards

Have you tried to contact another ISP on metrofibre. Greencom uses the Metrofibre infrastucture so if they are not responding maybe try another ISP like Firestream, cool ideas or cipherwave that also provide service on metrofibre.

They can maybe hook you up.

ROFLMAO @ the "Grade A" rating for the local test :D

I too would go back to LTE if that was my fibre experience tbh.

I think their network/services are not stable when it comes to speeds... I mean 6mbps is a joke on a 50mbps line. AFAIK fiber should be waaaaayyyyy more reliable than ADSL when it comes to sync speeds.

What do you mean? They can provide services that are not over metro fibre network?

They still use MFN for L2 but offer there own L3 services just like any other ISP,

MFN do not manage Layer 3 for us. We are now live on most other fibre networks as well. We are a full ISP.

1. Can you explain to me why my speeds are so bad during most times of the day? Why does the network perform so badly most times of the day? Also refer to my post the other day for even more bad speed tests.

2. Is this normal for your services to perform like this? If so at what times of the day is your network super slow and when is it not?

3. Can I cancel the contract and get my money back (R1710 "installation" cost and the R950 first month fee or at least some of it) if this cannot be resolved? My account got activated 12 May 2017 so it's been 4 days now total.

Also something funny: I see you removed the "Unshaped" claim from your website.

Then:

Now:

Torrents also completely die after doing only 1.5Gb and then seems to 'reset' again after some time.

The only time so far that I've gotten a proper 50mbps/50mbps speed test result was at 7AM :crylaugh:
