Got a sms earlier from Screamer saying the tower is down. Thanks Screamer.

Only problem is, I have to use this wretched 3G cr*p now.

Common Screamer, hurry with that fixerupper.:D

Rebel i somehow doubt that the tower is down. Have a gander at the screamer threads in the wimax forums. I think they have backed themselves into a corner and have no clue how to solve their issues.

I haven't been able to check my connection because thanks to City Power/Eskom the whole Bryanston area has been without electricity since Saturday morning.

What connection are you using ciruis?

I can't understand why you're still battling?:D

I don't understand this? Are you on drugs or something ? Your tower has been down and your service has been down, and now that it's back up again (nearly a day later) you're happy, and thanking them for providing the thing that you're paying them for ?

Are you a Screamer "plant" ?

Well I was informed that the service would be down. So I used my backup
(3G) for connectivity.

Considering how reliable my service has been, I allowed them the service interuption. At least I WAS informed beforehand.

No I'm not a "plant". I'm a human.:D

No sir, I'm not. (Who can still afford drugs these days anyway?)

I started this thread because of poor service I got from GWI. But for the past year or so my connection has been totally sorted out and I rarely have trouble with it anymore.

I fact even if I get the same package elsewhere, I would NOT change to another service provider.

So you think someone else's wireless products will be more stable? Who?? As I've said in the past...nothing beats copper or fibre but if wireless is the only way out then I'd rather use Screamer than anyone else.:D

Oh nonsense.

Get hold of howzit and try and get things sorted.:D

I would suggest reading the WiMAX forum where "howzit" has vanished into thin air.

I highly recommend leaving your world of clouds and kittens, and living in reality. Their service is at best described as "horrendously amateur". This friendly marketing and sales nonsense is just a façade that has begun to peal.

Well, once I contacted him my problems vanished. If he does not get back to you, he's probably busy.

I have been reading the wimax thread and I am sorry to hear about your problems. But seriously, I don't have hassles anymore. And its in no way "friendly marketing and sales nonsense".

When I had s**t with them, I told everyone. So what must I do now that the service I recieve is great? They could easily told me off and refunded me back then but instead sorted my problems out.

When you moan and whine, remember one thing. You are using a service provided over radio waves and it will never be as reliable as copper or fibre.:D

Not true. I've been working for a very large wireless network carrier that would put every cabled ISP in South Africa to shame. It all comes down to the amount of clue behind the network.

Oh god, yes. Terribly sorry. Excuse me the customer who is actually trying to work on their internet connection, the gods of Screamer are too busy to help me. I'll just be quiet and live with it until their highnesses can get to my lowly self.

And yes, I'm slamming the crap out of their image right now, because I was lied to by their representative here and ignored by their customer support.

That is a fact that stands, and will continue to stand regardless of whether or not they EVER get around to fixing my connection. My customer experience these last 2 weeks has SUCKED. I have the right to tell anyone and everyone I can just how much, it's up to them to repair the fallout.
