I see Takealot continuing their trend from last year of having better specials AFTER Black Friday week.
Already spotted 2 this morning.

Yup have to hack the gsync i dont think this model is offical supported. Fine for model for general use and gaming
LOL "Hack".

All you have to do is turn on Gysnc Compatibility in the Nvidia control panel. Not difficult. The vast majority of Freesync panels work without issue. The dozen models that Nvidia have officially certified just have the toggle on by default, without the user needing to turn it on. You don't need to "hack" it. I've been running a LG 29UM68-P with a 1080, works great.

Is this a good monitor for general use and occasional gaming?

It supports AMD FreeSync, wonder if it will work with G-Sync nVidia GTX1070...
I have 2x of these in my home office and it works as it should. FreeSync without any problems on my RX580.
The monitors do tend to flicker a bit for 2-3 seconds after start-up, which my previous LG D2342P did not do.
Got them for a steal, so can't complain much.
