AKA smoking plank. You braai meat on top of it and it infuses the flavor of the respective wood "type" into the meat.

Someone at my office spoke about this yesterday. Strange concept to me as well. Apparently you soak the thing in water for a while, then put the meat on top of it when braaiing. Gives off a flavoured smokey taste. R5 cheaper at Takealot though.
