That is a CPA matter, not ASAI know. Was refering to B's post
This is what you will get:
Dear xxxxxxx
During the period of xx xxxxxxx to xx xxxxxxx, FirstShop experienced a technical error that caused a small number of products listed on the Makro e-commerce website to display incorrect pricing.
The incorrect pricing displayed on the website was a clear and obvious error. Please refer to the ’Obvious Error’ paragraph in the ‘Terms of Use’, located on Marko.co.za.
In light of the above, please be advised that the order placed by you during this period has been cancelled and we will refund you all amounts that may have been paid to us in respect of order number xxxxxxx, which according to our records totalled to a value of xxxxxx.
We expect the applicable refund to reflect in your account within 7 business days. Should you experience any problems in relation to your refund please contact us.
We apologise for the delay in communicating with you as our systems did not recognize your order as erroneous at the time the order was placed.
Please accept our sincerest apologies for any inconvenience caused to you. We value your business and support and rest assured that we remain committed to providing you with the lowest possible prices on the widest variety of products.
Yours faithfully,
That is what I got from them. You are lucky if they honour it, else they will just lump it under the "Obvious Error" clause.
EDIT: There reasoning is that if you go onto other websites you can see what the normal price range is and deduce that it must be an error.
Depends on whose mistake the error on the site was. If it was on Makro's side perhaps they can still pay the supplier their rates. If it wasn't for the fact that so many people bought into this "error" this really could have gone either way. I once got a really good deal (pricing error) on a couple of items from FirstShop over Makro's site. It took a while, but I heard nothing and they eventually delivered.
With the amount of people having ordered these items right now, it's enough to send a small company into bankruptcy. There's just no way they're going to fulfill these orders.
