I've always been annoyed when monitors have built-in speakers as they sound awful... I had a Samsung and currently have an Asus that have this. I think this LG has a 3.5mm out though so you could in principle use external speakers. Even cheap ones are likely to be better than built-in.

Funny enough the speakers on the Dell are really decent. Don’t sit too far away so works perfectly.
Prefer a minimalist work desk so don’t like having speakers on the desk and headphones are usually plugged into Xbox controller if need be.

I've been looking for a cheaper entry into 4k for next gen consoles and I happened to randomly come across this yesterday. The cheaper 4k TV's are not that good and for someone on a budget this is an amazing deal. It will be good for next gen and a massive upgrade for my outdated monitor from 2005 which I use for as a second screen for work.

Ordered yesterday, should arrive by Wednesday :love:

I don't know whether I'd use this screen for gaming, not least because I'd need quite a beefy GPU! (probably not an issue for console) but so far today having vscode, slack, a reference document and a terminal window all open at once has been quite a boon.

Will probably still play around with my workflow a bit, but so far it is working very well, everything fits, and much easier on the eyes than when trying to squash everything in on a laptop screen.

4K at 100% scaling for work is just utterly amazing. Its really difficult to go back once you're used to it.

As for gaming, playing slower placed games works really well, and games just look so much better at 4K with good contrast and colour accuracy.

I've seen videos of 4k at 100% scaling and everything look way too small. Are you using it as your primary monitor? I'd be using at a second screen and a bit worried that the scaling will be messed up going from a lower res screen to a higher res one.

And yeah I think console gaming will be fine for this monitor, can't afford the hardware to run PC games at that res and frame rate :ROFL:

My work laptop is a 15.6" HP with a 4k screen. I was really excited about it, until I figured the text was so small that it wasn't worth it.

I am using the external 27" as my primary monitor now. Notebook's lid is closed. It's like tiling four almost-14" 1080p monitors next to each other. I like it a lot.
