Xperience Android TV Box 16GB with DStv & Netflix for R1199

In the reviews people recon they prefer it to the xiaomi mi box

Compared to the mi box it has:
  • 16GB storage (8GB more)
  • Proper keyboard / mouse combo
  • pricetag R100 cheaper
There is also a 1/8GB model for R999 but I think one should have at least 2GB ram for smooth operation on these boxes.
Doesn't look bad, just no 802.11ac or 5Ghz but otherwise looks decent.

Edit: it's not Google certified lol. I'd forget it then.

But this

Please note that DStv and Netflix have been specifically configured to work on this device. We recommend that you DO NOT upgrade these apps via the Google Play Store, as this may cause the app to stop working.

Yeah missed that part.

But I see the InfinityFX Google Certified Android 8.0 Media TV Box with DSTVNow (R1259) is similar specced although no keyboard / mouse combo and no 802.11ac. It is the one that was on sale on Hyperli earlier in december that I posted about here

Got this today, while the 240gig R699.00 would have been better, bit of a tight budget, normal HDD isn't working for me any more especially with photoshop and the gamedev work. For the time being this will be perfect.
Just have to better manage how things are installed, and move download folders to HDD.

It's so often on "special" at that price or less that I don't think it can be considered a bargain anymore.
