it was a promo with limited stock which was clearly indicated on the site
in fact the stock levels were shown on site and changing all the time

That thing totaly looks like a POS thowhat formats does it support?
The Egreat R6A-II uses the same processor (Realtek RTD1185) as the Mede8er 500X2, 450X2 etc. so it should play back the same formats as those Mede8er models or the AC Ryan PlayonHD2 etc. It should support more formats than the Western Digital Sigma based players. It doesn’t have the full 3D capabilities of the RTD1186 but it should support some SBS files. You can also download third party firmware which provide extensive online streaming material most of which would presumably not be available on other more expensive brands – see the videos below.

They must have changed it inbetween our postings. The reason I posted was because it was also R599, same price I bought one for about a month ago from them.

Yep, also saw the price as R599 earlier. But I would rather pay a bit more and get a 2/3TB drive.
If you only have R599 and 750Gb is enough then its a good option.
