WeChat is spending a considerable amount of marketing budget to encourage users to use WeChat Wallet. Example you can purchase airtime; buy electricity etc on the app

Don't know. Zapper has a feature to find venues nearby your location. In fact the default setting is to notify you when you are near one, I turned that off as it was irritating. Snapscan has a Merchant Finder but the venue I've been using it at is not on the list.

Most places that have Zapper or Snapscan make it quite clear with a QR Code on a stand on the counter or printed on the bill.

I've been using Snapscan/WeChat at only the one venue here but I do ask when I go to other places if they have either.
