I bought one for my GF a while ago.

Went home. Plugged it into network and let Windows update do its thing. Got a BSOD. It turns out its harddrive was full already before I started installing ANYTHING. HDD not upgradable. I took it back the next day. Also Chrome + Youtube 720p was also a struggle.

Avoid unless you want to constantly struggle and tinker.

Amazing how people do not realize yet that Chrome is a resource monster. It's not like it was at launch where a couple of tabs used only 200-400mb memory.

Those atom 3735 + 2gb ram + the 32gb emmc can do what a normal Celeron can do, even more than the new crappy Celeron n3 series. Use edge/firefox/opera/ie11 and you can watch 1080p without this thing even hitting 30% cpu usage

The newer atom x5 8300/8500 series being even better, but uses more power sadly.

Got the Xiaomi Note 3 (+Tempered glass) last week for R2600 all ship/customs incl. (Was ~$165)
The Note 4 seems mostly identical other than the 64Gb vs Note3 (Kenzo) 32Gb.

I looked at that, and rather decided to go with a different one.

Went wit this one instead:

Reason for that is, the Beelink X2 supports the DSTV Now app, which very few of these android boxes support. In my books, that extra $3 well spent.

Sadly, it currently sits in JHB at JIMC since the 3rd September, though it says in transit today so maybe it will be at Cape Mail hub on Tuesday, then another 1-2 weeks before I get it.
