I heard a report on the radio this morning where she said something like (paraphrasing) she contravened the law to make a point. Not sure that you can sue for wrongful arrest if you agree you broke the law. (But anyway, there's nothing like that in either of the reports I read this morning).
Cathryn, I agree completely that no politician is above the law - however the police should really have used a little discretion here.
It's apparently illegal to go to the Police station to make enquiries.
It's a new cunning ploy to reduce the crime rate for 2010.
Simply arrest anyone who wishes to lay a complaint or charge. Uses less resources, less chance of being shot, and bring the reported crime stats down while increasing arrest stats.
