Help! Audi S3 or VW Golf R?

Arguing on the Internet is silly (told myself I'd never do it but here I am :)) ... Promise this is my last post here. Proved my point already. Splinter you going on my ignore list...

Objectively speaking, considering you've brought next to nothing to the table the past page or three, I'm sure most of us are waiting eagerly... :)

Ok, before I go look for things, from the top of my head this is what I remember:

- OP wanted a view between S3 and 7R.
- I came in with M235i thing; saying tested all of the above; ZF gearbox is uber alles for your 95% driving
- Rusty then dropped in with the 4 exhaust pipes thing.
- We went off on a tangent.
- Then, while I was disputing Rusty's assertions that the 7R was gods left nut, adamr dropped in saying that he hated my misinformation. I think that was me saying that from what I had read in SA magazines, the detuned 7R was not as quick as the M235i.
- adamr then went a bit apoplectic and snide
- a few personal attacks later, he accused me of personal attacks
- he also called the M135i and the M235i "basically the same" and then "exactly the same"
- he also called the S3 and the Golf 7 R "basically the same" and then "exactly the same"

Ok. Now I got that in the background, let me go dig a little.

Oh yes - and before I go put stuff on the table, are you looking for You tube video's of drag races? Because this is the antithesis of what I was trying to tell the OP.

You could modify a Golf 1 to be quicker than the M235i. That is not the point.

Ok - with reference to the first video clip, as actually stated in the clip itself, it was in "less than ideal conditions". In other words, biased towards the 4 wheel drive. And before you say, oh thats real world conditions - it was in Australia in what looked like a sand storm having covered the track earlier.

Second clip - as I have said before; there is a strange occurrence here in SA where Audi's and Golf's exceed the manufacturers claim. Besides the fact that it was obvious the BMW driver didn't seem to be too professional...

In fact - I think I still have the Car magazine where the supposedly detuned S3 exceeded manufacturers 0-100kph spec's. I trully hope I still have it around.

But, again - this is not the M235i nor is it the Golf 7R.

By the way - you do know that your "Edition 1" has been superceded by a better version of the A45?

But, I have to ask you - you keep on going on about me not knowing anything and not being a "pro". But, according to you, you went from a 1M to a Golf 7R to a car you admit is not as good as the 7R. How pro are you then?

Ok, the above was after me taking the piss outta him (and whereafter he came back fuming saying I said my car was better than the 1M).

I rest my case as to who was throwing personal insults at whom.

I rest my case based on the bolded bits above.

But, just so you do not carry on talking stuff, would you explain to us how the DSG is exactly the same as the Steptronic.

Also how these cars weigh exactly the same.

But most enjoyably, please provide a little bit of evidence as to this exquisite statement:
