Hi guys,

I recently moved into a commune and the landlord refuses to allow us to get an adsl line.

So I was wondering what would be the best option for me to do, getting a 3g router, neotel or any other suggestions would help.

There are 2 of us sharing the house, and we are willing to pay R150-R250 each a month.

Thanks in advance :)

All depends on which provider has the best signal in your area. If you are and your friend are with different service providers with your cell phones then run some speed tests at different times of the day to see how they perform then get prepaid sims to test the networks you are not with.

Go from there. If MTN signal is good in your area you can take a look at Afrihosts new mobile options, they're pretty affordable.

Either 8ta 10gb+10gb for R299 on a 24 month contract depending how your signal is

Or one of the afrihost promotions but no one knows how long they will last. Plus no contract

Get Afrihost 10GB for R197 for now until Feb 2014, see what happens then. If things go pear shaped, then get Telkom Mobile 12 month contract 20GB for R199 (10GB overnight).

Of course there's awlways options for bulk once off purchases offered by Telkom Mobile and Cell C and Voda.

The Telkom 20gb is R299 per month if I'm not mistaken

But please do yourself a favour and test the networks first. My Afrihost (MTN) is awesome at my place but absolutely unusable at my buddies place, the only signal that is good at his place is Cell C.

Thanks to all that replied, I will try test networks first, and then maybe go for Afrihost's thing if the speed is good.

Thanks again. :)

Don't do contracts!!! If you and your mate do have funds available rather go 8ta/telkom mobile route and get the Go BIG 60gig*day time* and 60 gig night surfer/graveyard shift.

If money is an issue go for the best deal in town Afrihost Mobile three(3gigs+7gigs extra promotional period until 28 November, might be revised) or go with Mobile Two(2gig+3gig promotional period until end FEB 2014).

Do a lot of test results, go to your local store and purchase a sim card of each network Vodacom/mtn/cell c*Noticed Redbull mobile starter park is being sold all over clicks/cna/shoprite/checkers/pnp cost only R99 includes 200meg data per month for a period 12 on prepaid once off R99).
