Hi

I am currently using a Netgear DGN2200 on my 20mbit Adsl 2+ line which would give me rock solid snr of about 14db down and 12db up (If I hookup a pace router it would give me 9 down and 7 up) however a recent storm has turned the dsl line quality way down with a down/up of about 6-8 and sync of 18mbit instead of 20mbit.

Is there a modem/router out there that is absolutely kickass with poor line quality ? Considering Telkom seem to be content with just the line syncing I dont see a solution anytime soon other than to attempt a better router.

I'm not sure if getting a different Modem would help, but yeah Telkom seem to only care about the lines just barely working. I was having trouble with my line disconnecting on a regular basis due to a 5.7db noise margin. I contacted Telkom about it and they sent out someone to fix it. Well, it got fixed, but my noise margin only went up to 8db. That's not really much of an improvement. At any rate as soon as the new year starts I'm switching over to wireless Internet. I'm sick and tired of Telkom's uselessness.

Just an update, did some more research and it looks like ads routers that use the broadcom chipsets are best for stability, the rest for performance, my netgear uses broadcom so no point changing.
