Help config unconfig VPS

Hi i rented a PVS but need help from some to config it so i can host a website
and install some free type of control panel similar to cpanel
Software on it is Ubuntu 10.04 LTS (lucid)

I have used Virtualmin before on our own servers, not for clients but it does the same thing. http://www.virtualmin.com/download.html

EDIT: I mean, you can use it for your clients like CPanel AFAIK

Take a look at Kloxo from www.lxcenter.org

What's awesome about it is that it support lighttpd so once it's installed, from the admin login you click a button to change the webserver from Apache to lighttpd and youve very easily saved a ton of resources that Apache was gobbling up.

VPS usually comes with some sort of control panel.
Where did u buy it from? So we can see what options were included.

You dont really need cpanel if you know your way around linux.
Just install the required packages eg. apache, sql (if needed)...
Upload website to var/www/...
