Help exeeded Office cap without permission.

Find as many applications as you can which are full of viruses/spyware... (preferably download them with a linux/mac else you'll just get your pc infected, or at an internet caffe!)

Put the apps on a memory stick/cd/dvd and copy em all onto a work pc and run them, once the pc is infected so much it starts to crap blood, just point at it and theres your scapegoat! Just say it was a massive virus infection that downloaded/uploaded data.

I like this idea. While you are at it why not just burn down the building. Then they are sure not to catch you.(For bandwidth theft at least). :D

Even better, tell him you were testing the security on the network, and while doing so came across a flaw which chewed up the month's cap. He might even promote you. But then again, he probably won't.

Sounds like trying to wheedle out of trouble again. He was doing no such thing.

Weasel out. Weasel out. What if you get fired when you tell him? Don't waste your time on telling the boss. Why not try and frame the boss for the usage? Upload porn to his computer and modify the records to point to his pc. Then send out an innocent company email with your findings! Lol

Did we read the same thread? 99% of the responses were telling him to do the right thing...

Note = Not all were telling how to cover up. Best is to be honest about mistake....

Did folks miss the part where I said "any of you, advocating this coverup", I know theres lots of decent people on this forum and they've tried to steer him\her right but the "other" responses just make me red

Soz for the angst.

And when he gets in computer forensic people to find the culprit he will not only get fired, but also face legal action. If you made an honest mistake, don't try to correct it through criminal activity.

Even better! Upload Gay porn! Haha. Imagine the shame!(unless he is gay oc) :D

I don't understand this oke! WTH Roadkill, i mean i downloaded a torrent (Back when people actually used Torrents) and my Boss was emailed one of those naughty naughty letters, i applogised and said it would never happen again! and then i gave him my download cause he wanted it too!

Grow some balls bud, as most people here have already said, be a man. Character is not built on what others think of yourself, but what YOU think of yourself, so if you want to runaway/dig a hole to hide in/Lie to cover your ass, well you must really be a swell guy...

and P.S. i am judging you, for this sure, but mostly coz you tuned East London.... Bloody Agent!!!

I was actually being sarcastic, but I suppose it never really works well on forums where there are so many non-verbal cues missing.

PTA -> Midrand -> PTA traffic will do that to anyone...

Any response from the OP?
*scans newspapers for Bandwidth Theft headlines. Can't find any*

Personally I don't think the bandwidth is the issue here - it's a bit like someone over-using the company phone, and being hauled over the coals and made to pay it back - embarrassing, but no big deal on it's own.

The real issue is compromising the security of the network, which includes the 'junior techie' who is aware of the loophole but hasn't closed it.
