I'll give my support for Gift of the givers. Our workplace is already giving something like R250k to them to use for the Knysna Relief Fund.

Yep or let's start a huge debate about GOTG.

I'm not sure what's wrong with them donating to Palestine. I'm sure Palestine has poverty and it's an African based NGO so I'm not sure why SA should be the sole beneficiary even if it's mandated was Africa only (which it's not).

Charities and their subjects will always be contentious. There are plenty of good local causes in Knysna, no need to give to a big 'Africa-based charity'. Then again, let the popular vote rule, viva majority viva.
