Good day guys,

First time posting. (actually made an account to post).

so here's what i want to achieve

I have the following devices
Huawei B315 LTE router,
Mikrotik RB443 + antenna.

I'm trying to get the 2 to work together, aka. B315 router with CellC sim with LTE, and the RB443 and antenna to get better signal.

my predicament:

HOW do I make this work? or am I trying the impossible?

I have tried the following without success.

1) LAN Cable from the routerboard to my pc - doesn't work (169.154.x.x IP).

2) connected it to the B315 router, ran winbox (can see the mac address, but the IP is 0.0.0.0) so i get an index error.

enabled IPV6 to try log in through winbox that way (doesn't work). still only seeing IPV4.

Tried resetting the RB with a steel screw driver in the reset hole while it boots as per the manual (don't know how to tell if this is successful).

I'm left with an option to use serial, but I cant as my MB doesn't have a serial port.

what else is there to try? i have no experience working with Mikrotik devices so its all greek.

Does anyone here have experience with these devices? Can you lend me your wisdom kind sirs. I beg of you.

What exactly are you trying to achieve?

If you say the "ABB enclosure" has lan ports then it's not just an enclosure.... what's inside of the ABB enclosure?

Connect it to your router and then use an app like WUM WiFi to see what devices are connected to your network.

You can also connect to it directly from your pc with a lan cable and open command prompt. Type "ipconfig /all" and check what the default gateway is. If it is 169.254.* it is not giving you an IP so the device does not have its own dhcp service to issue Ip's - so that means it is a client only like your computer - it needs to be provided an IP by the DHCP server eg your router.

If you get any other IP as the gateway type that IP into your browser and see if you get a dashboard like you would for your router.

I did some further digging. It's a mikrotik routerboard 443. I managed to find some user manuals and guides. Now I just need to figure out HOW to reset the config on this thing back to default.

I can use the Mac address on winbox to log in, but it fails to authenticate due to username/password not being on default.

So, calling all mikrotik experts, how do I reset a routerboard? This is probably the only thing I couldn't dig up with Google.

edited my original post with all the relevant information I've gathered this far.

If there is a hero in here who is willing to help me improve my QOL by helping me set this beast up. i will forever be in your debt.

I don't think you can use the RB433 to improve your LTE signal you need a RB that has LTE support + the antenna. As far as I know its (the RB443) for WiFi access (e.g to a WISP)
ahh well this would make sense, I don't know these products at all so figured it'd be worth a shot.

What do you want the antenna to do? If it's for better wifi signal it will go on your RB443. If it's for better LTE signal then an antenna on your router won't help and you need one on your B315.
