Hi everyone,

I am sitting with an interesting network topology that I can not get to work. I am renting a garden flat and connecting to my landladies ADSL via wifi (see attached pic). Since the flat is about 15m away from the ADSL AP I need to use a high powered TP-Link usb adapter to connect. This works very well. My problem is that my cellphone barely picks up the wifi AP and my laptop doesn't see it at all.

What I have tried doing is to create a virtual AP using a second Netgear USB wifi adapter on my PC and then connect my laptop and phone to this, allowing them to connect to the internet via the TP-Link adapter. Alas this last part I can not seem to get right.

I have also tried to create an ad-hoc connection with the NetGear USB but I can't get the internet to share and my phone doesn't see it.

I really hope someone here can help, this is driving me mad. See attached pic for more clarity on my situation.Network topology.jpg

Why not just use homeplugs...they can work a couple hundred meters....then you could share the connection via one of your WIFI dongles by creating an ADHOC network with ur cell.
