That's expensive! Makro often has the Gardena hose and reel on special for R800 or R900.Gardena on the roll... Keep it inside your shed or garage when you aren't using it.

I've always just bought those cheap ordinary packs from Makro or Checkers with the green pipe plus fittings for about R150.
Usually lasts me for years even with my gardener roughing it around & cheap enough to not question when he announces the need for a new one.
One exception is the yellow one from Leroy Merlin ('cos I wanted one to matchy-matchy the Karcher ok) but can't comment on quality 'cos its done mostly single-application light duty around the cars & garage.
You now made me question the durability of my axe I bought from builders on special over xmas, this one..
Granted it gave me tomahawk vibes so it'll also probably only do light duty during appropriated natural psychoactive substance dance rituals around a bonfire, instead of hacking at the trees.

I had a garden master one and kept cutting it back
This one isn’t cheap, but the quality is great (hose) and it coils it back up nice and neatly.

I use a hosepipe quite bit with washing cars, filling the pool etc and got tired of the pipe bending to the point that it cost off the water.

The first thing to do is tell your garden engineer not to fold the hosepipe double to shut off the water flow. If he gets caught out doing it he has to pay for the next one or gets fired immediately, the choice is his.
