Hey guys been using the same machine for a few years and I think it has finally died.

I need a new M/B and Ram.
The CPU and GPU are perfect.
Same with the PSU

Need some advice, I was using the following MB
https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P8Z68V_PROGEN3/HelpDesk_CPU/
Using the i7 Intel CPU so want to keep that or am I screwed?
Will I have to also upgrade the CPU?

What MB do you recommend and what Ram?
And worst case, what CPU then ? Really want to avoid doing this because of cost.

I literally only play World of Warships and surf and download.
Looking at Esquire Shop as I have an account there. Also browsing Wootware
I am happy to look at AMD as well. (my GPU is NVIDIA - not even 6 months old)
Thanks

Well it's a 1155 CPU,so it's not current but not terrible,you'll need a replacement 1155 board (z77?),and DDR3 RAM if your old ram isn't working

You're looking for 2nd hand parts. They'll be really cheap since they'll be fairly old components.

MB: R400-R800 (Dependent on features)
RAM: Not more than R150 per 4GB

Will be tough to find a new 1155 mobo so you pretty much have to pay whatever they ask second hand. At least you get to keep using the i7. I still managed to get one in 2015 from com-x.

CPU model, are you using a k or non-k i7 model? Also what's your current ram configuration?

What's wrong withe the current MB, symptoms etc?

Eh. It's an old system. I would upgrade the CPU/Mobo/Ram.
Replace the motherboard on the current system and use it as an entertainment/streaming/downloading pc.

Check carbonite for a board if no shops have old stock and expect 700ish for a decent board

I strongly suspect that adding a new GPU started your problems. You don't say exactly what a problem is and what GPU you added. If you do you would get better suggestion. Bring computer to the repair shop, they will help you to find out what is a cause.

CPU is very capable, it could be i7-2xxx or 3xxxx, just get it tested with GPU and without to make sure which component is giving trouble.

Nothing at the moment, someone put a feeler out the other day and before anyone even mentioned a price it was sold same day.
