Strange, over the weekend I was dl'ing at constant 40-55KBps, tonight all I am getting is arount 10KBps.
Maybe because month-end slow-down?

Hello all!

I just stumbled accross this site and I think it rocks.(How come I never saw this before? Oh well...)

Reading the speeds all of you are getting makes me feel like a total newb. My speeds are about 2 - 5kb/s average, max around 20kb/s on a well seeded torrent.I am using BitComet, on 384kB/s line.

Can someone PLZ send me that PM. I would really appreciate it!

Hey, thx for the PM... I've done everything all the p2p sites recommend, and still no luck. Today only dl'ing at 1kb/s. Oh well, I tried.

EDIT: BTW @ the moment me and my partner both use bitcomet and limit ourselves to 10kdown 5kup during the day...and we sit @ about 8-10 during the day. @ night we both hit 15-20k down NP.

Hi guys

I'd really appreciate it if anyone could send me the settings. I was getting download rates of 15 - 20 kbps on my line using Bitcomet (which is fine with me, only have a 192kbps line) but now if it averages 5-7kbps on the exactly same torrent (it is well seeded). The problem has to do with port forwarding because I only have local connections. Unfortunately, using the port forwarding website hasn't helped me because I can't seem to get the settings working.

Also, I have the Telkom 5100 4-port router, which they don't have settings for. I've been trying to slap something up using the settings from other router settings but so far no luck.

Any help would be appreciated.

Signed up with Axxess to 'abuse' the internet and am only getting speeds of 3-5 kbps on a 384 line. So sad.

I sent all you guys the basic info on how I've got my stuff setup. It's just basic port forwarding etc.

P2P speeds and ADSL in general can be pretty pathetic at the start and end of the month - so I wouldn't get too concerned right now. During the month I haven't had any problems.

BTW, switched Bitcomet from bitTorrent and have upped my upload speeds, not by much tho.
Getting 6-7 kB/s, still quite crappy tho.
