Tried the port forwarding last nite, hardly helped.

The biggest puzzle for me is still why does torrent work like a bomb in the first few days and just went "bam" to the bottom without any notice ><

Undertaker,

I tried it as well, but it seems that it was good for only about 2kb increase, overall nothing much better :( :(

In bitlord it shows Kb/s Peer Dn, is this the download rate of my peers?

Undertaker, are you still getting slow speeds? It's generally pretty bad at the start and end of the month with ADSL.

Hi MansoN

The fastest speed I got from a p2p this weekend is around 13kb (I havn't c it went over 10kb for a long time), and that only happened early (REALLY EARLY) saturday morning, then went bk to the "normal" slow speed :/

Let me hope it'll be better from monday on.

Thnx for the info MansoN,

I am still having trouble with the speed though, another that bothers me is the fact that my stats look like this:
9.5Mb down
8.3Mb Up

What up with that?

I tried a couple of BitTorrent Clients but find that AZUREAS works best for me. Its is Java based, so neads the JAVA runtime.

Secondly, Torrent downloads seem to speed up once you leave the machine alone. i.e. Optimise your settings on Router/Firewall, XP Firewall, and machine.
When downloading, have no other apps open.
Disable your screen saver and leave the machine alone to do its thing for at least 30mins to half an Hour.

I find if you start using the machine while downloading, the torrents slow down.

Also TorrentReactor seems to host torrents that download quickly.

To save my CAP (and humor Telkom), I always throttle AZUREAS to approx 20kbs. If I leave it unthrottled, I constantly get high speeds i.e 36kbs and above. I am on a 384KBPS ADSL Package.

I KNOW THAT THIS SEEMS ILLOGICAL, BUT IT WORKS FOR ME.

Thanks for the info Toby,

I've just tried Azureus yesterday, works nicely for me, the speed isn't as good as yours, but it's going between 1xk and 2xk. So it's still acceptable (although I need 4 BT file running at once to achieve that).

MansoN, I signed up a week or so back already, but havn't got anything from MrBEEP yet :( hopefully I'll get my account soon.

Quick question:

In Bitcomet, under Peers, there is a column that says: KB/s Peer Dn.

What is that statistic for?

thats what that peer is download/uploading from his side... just to show if he's cranking it...

i use bitcomet with MRBEEPS proxy + my dlink dsl modem + gigabyte router using this TUT and if im clever with my ratios i hit 38k down 15up... and if i limit to 15kdown and 5up i sit on that all day... which is nice cos i'm @ work! ... haha.. .and then after hours just crack it to unlimited down... 20k up... and its great!... almost hit my 30gigs last month b4 the 15th!! lol
