High ping problems

Hi

I hope someone can explain what can be the problem that my trace route is so high and speed so slow, for the last two nights I called Telkom customer service to reset my port then the problem resolves but the next night I`m having the same problem.

There are local network issues in your area, or, "exchange congestion" (whatever that is supposed mean), or, an issue with your ADSL line that is not obvious from first glance.

A trace route from my location in PTA shows no local issues but rather RTTs on the International sections, higher than what I would expect to see. (181 ms) to the same bbc site.

try a different ISP, then do the same test again.
