Yeah for me the bottom of the screen has backlight bleed (only visible when lights are off in the room), so I guess I should count myself lucky that is the only problem I see.

But I just don't see that changing given that the panel appears to be the same. And the panel is what really costs the most money (other than shipping and packing this thing which believe me is a cost in itself). So in mind, we can expect more of the same. Either that or you need to move up in the price range I think.
 
I'm still hoping that the Q8600 gets the VIDAA 4.0 update since the new model (65U8QF) ships with it.

Only problem is it is almost twice the price of the Q8600. TakeAlot price - R29 499

Your link points to a 55" 8600 so I'm confused as to what you mean?
 
Any recommendations for a decent soundbar, not too expensive, good bang for buck for use on 8600, thanks

Hi i`m using the JBL 3.1 channel.
Works well with exceptional audio output. I paid R5500 on a special.
Surround sound is somewhat ok considering its only 3.1 channels.
All depends on what you want?
Main reason I bought this is because of the 4k pass through. I can run my other devices through the soundbar with out losing the 4k experience.
Sound is crisp and the bar has decent features.
Remote can be a bit crappy at times is my only issue with the bar itself.

I did notice is that the centre channel does not work with the TV apps hopefully hisense can sort this out with a firmware update in the future. I did manage to get it working by unplugging the TV from the wall and booting up straight to Netflix, but as i switch between apps the issue persists. Definitely a TV issue as if i run Netflix via the Xbox it works perfectly all the time.

So bang for buck is there, even the JBL 2.1 will work no doubt as the cheaper option.

NO there isn't.

Go buy one the q8600 is giving you 95% of what you will get with the q8f at less money
the q8600 is superior to q7f and will problay be the similarly priced at launch

I just did :D

Hopefully gaming performance is decent on it as the only reference I could find said that it was initially good until the panel was updated.

Saw the U7QF at Hirsch. I'd rank it higher than the Q8600 for picture quality. The 7Q I saw had very good screen uniformity, almost unnoticeable vignetting which isnt the case with the the majority of the Q8600's. Black levels were good as well on the 7Q all be it the area the tv was in was modernity lit. Yes the q8600 can get to a 1000nits but peak brighness isnt everything. Also what use is 120hz panel on the q8600 if you cant send any 120hz signal to it? Only major advantage of the q8600 is price, but even then, I would say to those than can spend an extra R2k-R3k go for the Q7 as its going to be supported longer in terms of updates and the overall picture quality and speed of the UI is great. (prices will fall a bit in the coming months as well)
 
The 120hz on the Q8600 is not a gimmick. You can play games at 1440p@120hz which is way better than 2160p@60Hz.

Peak brightness for HDR on LED LCD is one part that beats OLED, so if you can get a TV that shines (pun intended) in that department, go for it

Rating a hand picked and calibrated store display TV is ill adviced. Better to find online user reviews. LED LCD will always suffer from DSE.

Also, TVs hardly get more than one year support on software. So that should be the least consideration between TVs that have one year age difference.
