Hi

I have a question.

Would it be possible to rent just the DSL line from Telkom and you an ISP like Axxess?
Do you have to have one of telephone packages like Closer 1?

From their website I got this price for the fastest service available.
Fastest DSL - up to 4096kbps (Monthly Rental Price R413)

I hardly use the telkom landline.

You can rent just the line and not take a package but you will still pay the normal line rental as well.

So you pay line rental + adsl line rental and source your own data provider.
Else you go to a company that offers both ADSL and Data but either way you will pay the normal line rental as well.

What is the normal line rental? I have been checking through to Telkom site and this cost seems to be eluding me.
 
personally if 5 gigs is enough bandwidth go for the Do broadband 3 package... 5 gigs int 30 gigs local...for R554....

the above price includes the line rental...
I know its telkom and thats K@k but the package itself remains competitive...

I found this on www.do.co.za for this package.

Excludes line rental, voice and fax call charges

Then you take the do package and add it together with phone line rental. And thats what you pay. Just because Telkom can charge us for the phone line when we don't want it. :sick:

You've already mentioned R413 for a 4Mb line. Even though I don't use the landline, I took out the Closer Plan 1 as it is R10 more than the basic line rental and gives you unlimited calls after hours and weekends which my wife uses with her mother.
