Homemade Pizza

I have a small diy brick oven I built years ago and its been more about socialising and having people build their own pizzas while having a few drinks than saving money.
Any chance of some photos of the oven?

I posted some in one of your threads long ago :) its not pretty but it does its thing.

I used this if I remember correctly with clay pavers and a pratleyperl slab+plastering over the oven.

@bwana you know you're a ****... I just looked at that pizza oven and then bought one because it made me hungry... ok not that one as renting the wife would take too long as she still has teeth, so business is slow.

I bought a cheapy red Italian one!

I am now excited, I even made dough yesterday!

One of my threads? I'd love to know which one so I can have a look.

Do you remember what it cost to build? These Gozneys are fantastic but seriously pricy.

Pizza oven? Or spouse with bad teeth?

Congrats either way!

It really wasn't that much because I used general building materials. If you want to use refractory bricks and high temp cement etc the price quadruples very quickly.
I'd say at today's prices R10K should be a good guess.

I just bought that and it's excellent, gets to around 450c on the stone in 10 min. Pizza takes around 5 minutes to cook.

Of course I bought it for R1499 and the next day Checkers discount it immediately! bastards... TakeAlot = R2,600 get bent!

Highly recommended and there are lots of reviews on the internet / youtube.

I was worried it wouldn't cook the top evenly. Any issues in that regard?

What size pizza can you make in it?

the stone is 31cm across, so I guess 25cm is good?

don't judge my roundness, I messed up and made the dough size all wrong! I read the dough ball should be 250g give or take, so I though easy I will use 1kg flour and then once the dough is made I will divide it in 4.... yeah moron me forgot about the 600ml of water! so my dough balls weren't 250g each they were more like 400g each! oops

anyway, tasted great and roughly 5 minutes. A bit tricky to get the dough off the padel thingie, I've never done that before, but the next one I just sprayed non stick on the stainless padel and the dough slid right off, easy peasy!
