Honda Brand

Does anyone have any idea of the dismal sales numbers of the CR-V, usually South Africans will buy anything that's high riding and has plastic cladding around the wheel arches, what's wrong here, is it perhaps the price?, because it's definitely not the looks.

Apparently there's very little to no stock. Have been car shopping and new CRV expected late Aug.

Yip, and as far as I can see not that many pre owned options either..

No idea why they're not stocking a few more.. Anticipation for the new model selling for +-R50k more than the 2016 model?
 
My 2cent's worth:

We have a 2013 2l FW Honda CR-V
Hugely big on space.

It's a manual gearbox (with six speed) so it is a joy to drive on the open road.
That's what we use it for and it suits its purpose admirably.
Spin the motor to 4000rpm and off we go.
If you don't like cog swopping then it is not for you.
Cape Town, Namibia, Gaberone, Richard's Bay; Komatipoort it's been there.
So comfortable and a pleasure to be on the road.

Can I fault Honda?
The dealers simply do not have the same brand loyalty that I have.
That is why I changed my runaround from a Jazz to a Suzuki Swift but the CR-V will always be the long distance vehicle..

And I love my Swift. It is the Jack Russel while the CR-V is the Labrador with Rottweiler genes.

Lol...ok guy.

My cuz has the 2016 2L N/A. It's the f/lift of the 4th Gen. Very nice vehicle. Well built; super roomy.

The 5-speed auto is not the best optimized for that 2L motor though but that's a minor thing.

Great family vehicle. Fair bit better than direct rival RAV4.
 
The one I saw it's last year model it's not that bad guys, almost look like Suzuki Swift sedan.

One car I would not touch from Honda is the "fat brio" Honda Mobilio and BV R the are so long look like a hearse.

Anyone know where to get Honda parts around the Randburg area or anywhere in Jhb? A friend is struggling with parts for both his Jazz and the CR-V, dealership prices are ridiculous, they want R2400 for a set of rear brake pads which don't seem to be available anywhere besides the dealer, he's been looking for a shock mounting for his Jazz for some time now and it's always a mission everytime he has to replace something on the cars.

Your help will be much appreciated.

Man imitates machine to form Honda's 'Human Car'

Honda is bringing a sense of fun to this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, opening from Thursday, with this piece of performance art, entitled ‘The Human Car’.

Twelve talented players bend and entwine their bodies to form the shapes of a Civic Type R and a Fireblade superbike - which Ministry of Fun director Kevin Doody admitted was an ‘interesting’ challenge to choreograph.

But there’s a serious side to it as well, said Honda UK boss Dave Hodgetts, in that it represents Honda’s efforts to close the gap between man and machine by bringing the machines closer to the people rather than the other way round, in line with Honda’s stated design philosophy, ‘man maximum, machine minimum’.

The Honda stand at the 2017 Festival takes the form of a family-friendly laboratory, the Challenge Lab, aimed at giving showgoers an insight into its people-focused technology through a series of mental and physical challenges, including a rock-climbing wall, as well as speed and cognitive challenges.
