Hi guys,

I currently have a Gold Home Linux Hosting with afrihost.

I want to upgrade to a dedicated server of sorts.

Do they transfer all my home/data from my current gold package to the newly selected product? Or how does it work?

I wanted to call them to ask, but their operating hours slipped by me ;-)

I'd say open a sales/support ticket, but I've noted in the past that their response times can be quite lacking. Nonetheless, you may as well open a ticket to get a response, or maybe one of their people can answer on here (AfriGuy, I think).

Edit: To answer your question: It depends on what you're upgrading to. Shared hosting runs on cPanel, but other products do not have that pre-installed. So if you get a VPS/Cloud, you need to buy a cPanel license in order for them to be able to migrate your data.

I won't go from a shared hosting account directly to a dedicated one, and I won't host with afrihost even if they paid me. weigh up your options. a lot of hosting companies offer to transfer data for you, and they do it right the first time around without screwing up your hosting
