I like my steaks like I like my women.
Alive.
That means medium-rare to medium, erring on the medium side. I've tried rare and just can't do it.
But I'm also not fussed about it too much - you bring me a well done piece of meat that and I'll enjoy the heck out if it.

Aaaand in saying all that, we actually don't eat too much red meat these days.
Womanificator

Sounds pretty good...
some people can't stand the taste of blue cheese, you could even use feta but then you add zero salt, both are quite salty.

Best steak I ever had was a fillet steak topped with a prawns and blue cheese sauce, close second is a thick rump steak stuffed with smoked oysters and Cheddar cheese.

I guess those are the people eating parmalat gouda saying its strong cheddar. If they only knew the power of decent cheese; like in proper goats cheeze  (nie die "sommer winkel kak" nie, talking about Belnori range).

we have a place here renowned for their goats cheese, they make a mean halloumi which is traditionally made with goats milk.Till you try a halloumi steak salad, you will want nothing else after that.

Steak: The most overrated thing out there. Give me a lamb-chop on the braai any day. Or almost anything else.
I'm with you. I like braaing at friends and family, but I usually skip when they're inviting me to a steak braai. Don't like steak that much, too.
Just sucks the fun out of an nice evening, when they go on about how you should try their style and "why not" etc. Luckily most of my friends doesn't care.

I take my steak for a long walk and have a heart to heart conversation. Then I take my steak out of the bag.
Rare with a dash of salt is how a steak should be eaten.

@bwana

BTW speaking about whether carpaccio should be considered steak, what do you think about tippanyaki, considering when served in a restaurant the steak is sliced raw and you then ''braai'' your slices as you see fit ?
Didn't the Spur do something similar with a rock or something years ago?

Anyway, unlike carpaccio... steak.

I added raw to the list of poll options for you.

And changed :D

yeah hot rocks but you sliced your own steak or could put the whole steak on it. With tippanyaki generally every thing is sliced and prepared before hand.

Deep fried until it is well done and then covered in tomato sauce.

*hurls*

Jokes, rare to medium rare depending on the cut. Just salt if I'm cooking it myself, or a barbecue basting at a good steak restaurant.

I will never put tomato sauce on bread or on eggs but french toast with tomato sauce is awesome.

Also chopped rotisserie chicken bake topped with cheese and lots of cornflakes is amazing

French toast with tomato sauce is weird? Ooo-kay, I had no idea.
yeah that is weird, pretty much every one in my family eats it with syrup, honey, maple syrup or apricot jam.
Wimpy sells french toast with honey and bacon..........delisssssssh :D

However I would make a savory french toast by slicing tomato and onion thin and place it in the pan, place the french toast after dipping on top and some tomato and onion bits on top and cook it like that.

the issue I have is really tomato sauce is far to acidic and clash with the taste of the french toast, artificial tomato sauce made with tomato powder has a sweeter taste, probably better suited, I can't stand the taste of allgold, to be honest it tastes like sifted, bottom of the barrel, scrapped aged left over, flavored cow manure........

The only thing I use cornflakes for other then breakfast with milk and sugar, which I haven't eaten in 30 odd years, is to make bread crumbs when making fried chicken, or a deep fried breaded dish. limp soggy cornflakes I will skiet a kat.........:D

Baked in the oven until it just starts to go black on the edges with cheese makes a nice crunchy top layer to any dish. It doesn't go soggy at all. So good
