How long does it take to convert to ADSL Line?

Hi,
I would like to find out how long it takes to convert my line to a ADSL line with Telkom because I have noticed most ISPs that do it for you take about 21 working days to do so. I want to setup internet but I am looking for a faster way of doing it?Can anyone help me or is it better through a ISP?

It depends on what you order and what is available at the exchange.

I ordered 394 and got it in a few days, but when I tried to upgrade to 4 meg I had to cancel the order after month because they informed me that the exchange did not support it and they were still considering IF they should upgrade it.

Depending if there is availible ports on the telkom exhange - if none you may wait long - then they have to install additional. (Suppose its all about supply and demand with them here)
If they have space - I heard by law they must do it within 21 days or something like that.
Personally waited only 3 1/2 - 3 days. Did a self install. Was lekka and simple.

Erm I don’t know how others feel but it’s definitely not necessarily better through an ISP.
Some ISP restricts (or try to restrict) the amount of ISP one can use.
If you want to use more than one account then no its not better to get it via the ISP in a one price account scenario.
The money that you safe on the adsl circuit (on a one price option) you could save back on the price you pay for the bandwidth in the first place, when you rent you circuit from Telkom of course.
Had both already – difference is the ISP will follow up on your behalf and give you updates – which is nice. With a bit of clever talking and b&m’ing (more likely) you can have it done  Oh this is hopeless!
