As little as possible. Although the last time my debit card expired I ordered a new one via the app and opted to collect it at a small branch. It was a very pleasant experience. Thank you ABSA in Die Boord.

I went to open my first account as a teen. Since then, everything including credit card, upgrading account, freezing cards, reporting fraud, opening a business account, etc etc etc has been via the website, phone or app.

With FNB. Been almost 2 years since I stepped in the branch. Last time went to get stamped bank statements as embassy didn't accept e-stamped statements.

I'm obviously in the minority on this but I prefer having a branch to go into when there is a problem or if I have questions. I cannot handle the phone system of 'press 1 for..., press 2 for...' and then the whole 'your call is important to us, please wait for the next available operator' drives me insane. Email does sometimes work well but often there is a lot of back and forth. I prefer to walk into a branch, chat to someone, get my questions answered, sort out any issues, etc. The wait isn't very long anymore either.

You can thank us people who don't visit branches.

Ok boomer :)

If there are no branches, how does one open a Discovery account?
I filled in the on-line form on 5th March but heard nothing further
Looking at the website form, they mention 4 different account types but there is only detailed info about one of them
The number 0800079697 keeps prompting me to press numbers, but a human does not answer
The Store is only for medical matters

Capitec, Never, no need.

Standard Bank, one a week, nothing works and their staff are horrible. Literally the worst banking experience ever. Not even just banking, it's the worst service industry experience ever.

My wife used to be with that horrible bank, never again.

Not often, 3 or more months can go by without going to a branch as i do most of my banking on my mobile APP.

Only for cards/ if something goes wrong enough that it can't be fixed over the phone- which is luckily extremely rare.

Download the app and do it on there.

Other.

I visited the ATMs at a specific branch, as they were cash-accepting, but haven't done that since 2019.

2017/2018 or so for a card I opted to collect at a branch, that was a painless process fortunately. Had them delivered to my work since then.

Oh yes, beginning of 2019 to renew my passport.

Discovery Bank, so never. I've had to call them once to shuffle around my credit, but that was it.

Three times in the last four years, so put down yearly as it seems at least once a year I need to do something.

- Once to draw bank statements because I couldn't do it online or via an ATM for some stupid reason.
- Once to sort out a credit card when it stopped working.
- Once to set up a Money Market account. Again I tried to do this online but ended up having to go in to the branch.
