howto enable my usb keyboard without bios

That would be ideal. However the OP said he's too afraid to open his case.

Yep hence my "FFS", and I can't believe that a simple fix became a whole ethical debate.

hi guyz. ps..i'm a "her". solution i chose - was quite by accident. went into the pnp hypermarket in durban north - to do some grocery buying. was browsing the comp. dept. saw a yodata..usb to ps/2 connector. recalled the advice in these msgs. purchased the connector for R24.99. connected the keyboard to usb connector and connector to ps thingamagig on the comp. got into the bios settings by hiytting f2 as my kb was now functioning..and enabled usb ports. then uplugged connector and replugged usb keyboard..and lo and behold..have a fully functing kb. thanks guys. without this advice--i'd have not a clue as to what to do..thanks again..
