HTC DESIRE HD

If you are using Google Chrome as your web browser, you must install the "Chrome to Phone Extention". It is simply too good to ignore.

Once you've got the Chrome to Phone extention installed, you'll see an extra option when you right-click on wallpapers, etc in your browser "Chrome to Phone". Once you click it, Chrome will send the link to your phone & you'll find the wallpaper link under your notifications. Simply tap on it and Android will download the wallpaper for you.

Super easy & so useful. :)

Is there a FireFox equivalent?

Dudes, so I have 3G Watchdog installed and my data usage is exorbitant.

This morning I left my flat at 8. Switched wifi off and mobile data on. Within about 20 minutes I had accumulated 1mb of data usage. I did nothing! Didnt check fb, mybb, news24. I didnt receive an email, whatsapp...f-all.

Now my question is this, what is using my data. How can I check?

I have a 300mb data bundle and within 13 days its finished...and thats with light usage and spending half my time in my house which is wifi.

Help please!!!

After the euphoria of being connected and updated every minute, I also ran into this problem.

So here's what I did :

Go to Settings > Accounts and Sync and start disabling all the Twitter, Facebook, Google Account, HTC sync accounts and put it on manual.

Then you have to look at your widgets running on your home screens. Say you have the Locations widget, check that it's not updating every 10 minutes, etc. or the weather widget. Same applies.

Once you have that all checked, you'll see a HUGE difference in your data usage.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, but the issue is that I have done that. Everything that can be changed to update manually or once a day has been done.

FB, twitter etc are only updated if I open them. I have no data using widgets. Just apps, calendar and calculator.

Just hit 2mb's and ive done nothing!!!

What I think may have happened is that when you download a game or an app, within a few days an update makes itself available to automatically update the game/app. Maybe the constant comms with the sever is whats killing me.

Also, background data is off and I even deleted my HTC Sense account.

Anyone know how to see whats using my data?

The app updates you can set to do manually as well, just go to the Market > My Apps.

It might be your Google Account that's syncing, or contacts. I know I can't delete my Google Account on the phone, only way is a factory reset.

Ok, so I downloaded an app called Spare parts. It shows whats been using the data and it seems its my bloody email. Its already used 2.8mb's today and ive only received 2small text emails?

I have changed the email sync to every hour whereas it was every 15mins before. Lets see if this fixes it.

hehe....we always tend to forget the most obvious one. :)

Completely off the data topic. I've been messing around with custom ROMS. Found that the LeeDroid V1.4.1 is fantastic. Battery is better ( new Radio firmware) Brilliant

But it's still a Froyo ROM? Would be interested in a Gingerbread ROM...well, not in a hurry. My phone works buttery smooth.

Sent through my upgrade request just after work today. Only being processed on 1 Feb. Can't wait!!

I have been running LeeDroid V1.4.1 since the day it was released ... It works like a charm .... no problems...

I still get a kick out of booting the HD and seeing the Energy logo and hearing R2D2 ... :)
Here is the XDA LeeDroid link ...
