HTC DESIRE HD

Been having a weird issue with my phone. In the morning the phone would be fully charged. I get home it's still around 50% and while eating dinner the phone will all of a sudden notify me that only 15% battery remains... anyone else experience this? The drop from 50% to 15% is like 30 mins to an hour

yep wifi is on but my phone is set to use 3G when not on wifi so it updates all day... I will switch the wireless off and see if it does it again.

I'm too lazy. ;)

My phone is working well, so don't feel the need to experiment. Maybe I'm getting old.

LoL naaa i dont think u getting old ... i feel the same way, i like it just the way it is and i really don't
wanna bugger it up its running so smooth now and everything is working just right ... although
GingerB might just tempt me to root.

hmmm try switching 3G off and wifi on manually for a day or 2 and see how that works out for you.

Phew! Thanks Deep78, I was worried for a nano-second. :)

Well, HTC must release the Gingerbread update sooner or later, or they might decide to wait for Honeycomb, but that will be radical!

I think I first want to experience Gingerbread before diving into Honeycomb, cos it will be way different from what we're used to up and till now.

The only thing I would like on my Froyo phone, is a custom weather widget on my home screen, without the huge clock, but that will also show me the day and date. Don't like the huge old fashioned clock on my home screen.

i sep the 2 widgets so i have a 1x2 digital clock with date and a 1x2 weather next to each other so i don't have a whole
half screen gone with that massive clock weather thing.

Yeh - I'd prefer something smaller so I can add a calender widget.

That is a very useful widget. The small one line calendar one, right?

The home screen just looks too crowded with the clock + cal + few icons. Pity the screen res is not more, it pains me that my iPhone can fit in 20 icons + a dock on the screen.

Yeah, think I might experiment with that again....I had it like that, then decided to go back to the huge clock because it does the same job as the two widgets.

I want the stuff I ordered on 29 December :(

I was raving about how quick shipping from the East is - and now I'm waiting :(

20 working days right? With weekends you'll be lucky to have it by 31 January. If SARS feels you're entitled to your purchase ;-)

Question about the locations component. I had my phone a grand total of a few days when, while fiddling with the MicroSD card, I dropped it and it fell down between one of the small openings next to my handbrake in the car. Now I could probably, by hook or by crook (or by asking the dealership when I next take the car in for a service), get it back, but there's no guarentees.

I bought myself a new card as I was going on Holiday the following day and I needed the on the go photos and video, which, by the way are awesome beyond words - my wife was using her iPhone and we were snapping away merrily, the DHD's pics are very very clearly a cut above... anyway, I digress. The problem now is that it appears the locations app was initially installed to the now missing SD card, meaning I don't have access to the app on my phone anymore ... it keeps asking me to confirm the download of around 50 mb to re-install Locations on my phone.

Given that I am now running on out of bundle rates, I have no real desire to download 50mb, so I was wondering if any of you knew where I could get hold of an APK file, or perhaps there's some other way of getting the locations app re-installed. It seems to be just the data portion, as the app is there and can be launched.

Thanks in advance.

Just got my DHD yesterday... (only realised what a phone this is on Sunday afternoon). Trying to read this entire thread but its almost impossible at work. BTW, didnt turn the phone on as yet, want to get a cover + screen protector first cos I dont want even a spec of dust on it :)

I'm still on around page 60 or so of this thread where most ppl are still waiting for the phone... exciting stuff :P
