HTC DESIRE HD

Ordered the R200 package in December and still waiting.

My first package got lost. Spoke to the guy and he was very happy to send another with a tracking number. This one arrived promptly and on time :)

Unfortunately SAPO is a bunch of thieving criminals, so that is the weak link in this chain. I don't use them anymore unless I absolutely have to.

May I ask how long some of you waited for your phone to arrive with Vodacom or MTN? It's been close to 3 weeks now with Virgin, and they are really trying to test the level of my sanity!

I ordered mine with Vodacom in Greenacres (Port Elizabeth) and waited 2 days for it.

As expected, Virgin has once again taken something which should bring so much joy, and turned it into an excruciating experience which seems to have no swift resolution... But alas, the joke is on me for thinking the leopard had changed it's spots! (sigh)

Oh well, there seems to be nothing for it but to wait...

I must agree, the women at MTN Retentions are much nicer than the ones on their Helpdesk. :)

I've realized that my Desire HD is a much more capable & faster router than my Vodafone B970 router, so now it gets abused even more.....it's doing constant wifi hotspot duties.

Got my DHD today
...after ordering it just over a month ago from every MTN branch (3) in town.
(One of the branches actually suggested to me that I give the finger to the other branches when my order arrives there, but just take it from them instead.)

About the same time that I ordered the DHD from MTN, (month ago) a friend of mine asked me which phone I'd recommend. He walked into a MTN branch in the PTA area, ordered, picked up the phone the next day.
It took couriers a month to send 2x DHDs (another one for my bro) to George?

On the up side, I guess the delay atleast pushed the contract to be covered by the CPA..

Welcome to the club

I have mine now for almost 2 weeks, and all I can say its the biggest mistake I have ever made...

The longer I have this "mini tablet" the more I love the screen size... problem is that its starting to make my iPhone 4 screen look like a toy, not to even talk about the wildfire.

This is going to force me to keep this dam screen size when I ever upgrade. Can be done with new Evo 3D or lets hope there is a HTC Desire HDS in the future.

ROFL :D:D:D

Glad to hear you're enjoying it!

It's time for an upgrade and I am seriously considering this phone, but it's been out for 6+ months now. I know you can't always wait for the next big thing, but how relevant/up to date will this phone be in a couple of months/years when HTC releases bigger and better models? Should I go for this or rather wait for their next flagship?

Hehe, thanks for the welcome ;)

Indeed, the screen size really makes it for me. Tried the smaller Galaxy S, Redbull Ideos X5, etc.. that little bit of extra real-estate just makes it perfect. Loving it.

My bug with HTC is that they release a new model every 6-odd months. Ridiculous.
So you might as well buy their latest and greatest now.

The Desire HD will last you much longer than two years, but in two years time there will be a HTC phone with quad core CPU and 16GB RAM. :)

I ordered this phone on Friday from Elite Mobile, and discovered this thread during the weekend. Can't believe I just read through 2400 posts. :wtf:

You guys made me real excited about this thing. I really hope I get it this week. :o
