Magnificent! You can change the character sizes on the fly and flip page reading all along. The proof of it is that I have not read books for years and now I read 3 of the stories that came with the DHD and are busy with the forth.
@King, where can we download decent free ebooks?

If you have the Reader open, you'll see at the bottom "Featured in bookstore". Just tap on it and it will slide up, showing some of the latest titles.
You need a Kobo Bookstore account to buy the ebooks, and it says it is a global bookstore, but haven't tried it yet.
I'm a bit old-fashioned, like to go to Exclusive Books and buy a physical book. Just like it better the old way.

I would love to get my Desire HD, but MTN has messed up so badly that I am still waiting 
should I even bother trying to hunt the phone down or should I wait for the next version that comes out? Rumour has it that the htc pyramid will be anounced soon and by the time MTN gets their act together I can just as well go for that one. Any other phones similar to the Desire HD that might be confirmed soon?

Well go check the announced HTC Evo 3D But I dont think there is anything coming soon... then again once we get our Update we should be set for another year as the DHD is truly awesome.
now that looks awesome lets see how it goes, maybe I have more luck with a different version

The Evo 3D will be a great phone.....but my Desire HD already is. And with the Gingerbread update, we basically get a new phone for free.

So to sum that up... it's perfect for everything? 
The 4'3'' display is perfect for web surfing, book reading, game playing, browsing Facebook, reading your mail, using WhatsApp, sending SMSes, using the onboard Navigation software, browsing pictures, taking pictures, watching movies on the go, using the phone as a camcorder, adding more home screens, browsing home screens, browsing your apps, installing your apps, etc.

AAAARRGGHHH - just bought again - same story, the seller is also using ChannelAdvisor, I then noticed the item price and description is identical to the previous one, I think its the same seller with more than one account.

yep... but they load the wrong phone against my name the whole time. how difficult is it to understand the difference between the HTC Desire and HTC Desire HD. ReallyHang in there bud its worth the wait
, I've had the office in stitches, because these people just dont get it. At least I have someone that now knows which phone I want and is busy organising it. But now that demand is soo great MTN had to do a special order and they dont know when it will come in. I am beginning to think I should rather just wait now, there are some nice phones on the horizon.shadow_man

My HTC Desire HD just died today. I checked on it at lunch time and it was off - knowing the battery issues with the phone I assumed it needed to be charged.
When I got home I chucked it on charge - but it didn't come on - I then noticed that the LED was off.
I removed battery, changed to a different battery and tried to power again. NOTHING. Not able to boot off battery or charger or boot in to recovery mode.
This phone is in on a contract with Virgin Mobile. What will they do when I take it in and they find Leedroid? Does custom firmware void warranty? (i'm partially sure it does). What are my options?

Yep it actually does void warranty, that is why my DHD is still on stock. You can go play dumb and take it in for repairs not saying a word about flashing
Who knows you might get lucky
