i heard horror stories about how long expansys takes!!!
I migrated from Windows mobile where tomtom was one of my most used features. Have tried locations, co-pilot, ndrive so far and they all fall well short, and caused many grey hairs trying to navigate around johannesburg at night recently. I have heard that Navigon may be better but cannot find a version that works on Android with RSA maps. What have other folk settled on as a replacement for Tomtom on WM?

I find the Route66 navigation software that came preloaded with the phone more than capable for my needs.
Who cares about your needs, it's my needs thats paramount, each on their own I guess.![]()

Yes, the lifetime licence is something like R270. Nice thing is that you can still use it if you have no network coverage.

I see some crazy kid has taken the HTC Sensation ROM and ported it to the Desire HD.....
Won't be long till we get a proper Rom with full hardware support then. Can't wait.
So I need to loose my warranty to buy stuff as opposed to just pirate it... well done Google.
If you temp root your device you can get Google navigation to work in SA with turn by turn voice guidance. There is another thread about it, if I was on my pc I would link it.
I use it on my rooted desire and found it the best, also note its an online system but uses vector maps so is allot lighter than day Google maps.
You don't need to root your phone for Google Navigation to work.
In SA you do AFAIK.
