That is totally a personal decisions. I am sticking to 2.2 because of my games not working in 2.3. Also downgraded a friend of mine back to 2.2 because of issues he had. Some people here seems happy with 2.3

So its totally up to you :)

Besides I use SPB Shell 3D so I get allot smoother UI than that crappy sense .....

I would seriously recommend that you keep your phone on 2.2 - this update is just not worth it.

See it as going from Windows XP to Windows Vista.

Quadrant scores on GB aren't representative. My old Desire scores about half of what it did with the fastest Froyo ROMs, but it's noticeably more responsive in day-to-day use.

Dammit! I think im just going to take the plunge. From all the research I have been doing it seems like most people dont lag. Its basically you and some dude from Sweden who are having issues. Have you checked your app list. Apparently another chap was also having lag issues because all his app updates were lined up but stuck. He had to cancel them one by one and his phone was sorted
 
my update completed successfully - no issues so far.

Phone operates much faster for me... initially had a whole bunch of updates that needed to be done due to the upgrade but after that the phone has been brilliant.
 
I need help to copy my contacts to Google.

In Auto-sync>Google I can see myemail at google dot com. Auto-sync is of.

I have no contacts in my Google accounts and want to transfer my contacts to Google. I am afraid that the Sync will use Google Contacts as the "Master" and delete all my contacts on my phone.

Did the update and it works great. Had to uninstall and reinstall Dolphin browser but other than that...happiness!
 
Ok, 2.3 downloaded and installed on my DHD, but I honestly don't see the fuss, or am o missing some things, my app drawer is updated, but that is actually the only thing that I can see that changed

Heard from HTC's twitter on Friday that the update is coming, finally got the notification tonight, finished downloading the update and now just before hitting the install, I decide to check in MyBB an see what other experienced... Now I'm unsure of upgrading...

I've never had problems upgrading my linux install but a friend of mine with the same distro is still stuck on 3 versions back because he never has luck after the updates and always reverts back. Now I'm wondering if the few reporting bad experience aren't in the same boat as he... Whats the verdict, are there more happy campers or angry villagers with pitchforks n torches? I can't decide if I should upgrade or not.

Can someone confirm the version number? is it 2.3.4 or just 2.3?

As there is a way to downgrade I would say go for it, that is why I made the how-to if people dont like it. So check it out, worse case is you have to download a 200 meg file and revert back to 1.32

My apologies if I ranted a bit heavy today.....just got very upset when I saw what the gingerbread man has done to my music folders. :(

I need some inspiration to try and sort the mess out....think I'll start with a stiff drink.
 
Seems like update broke avg free and I know it works on 2.3 so its something HTC did.

Oh well time to use lookout instead.

I had a Gmail unread email notifier widget and that also stopped working.

Internet experience is a mixed bag. Text is difficult to read, looks faded.
 
My AVG works after doing the update. What specific issues are you experiencing?
