HTC One X

Interesting. Still running stock 4.0.4 with Sense 4.1 and when I run Antutu I get a score of 14610. Battery life is OK depending on how much I use the phone.

call regenersis in midrand
ask for zak - ask him if he can help

Hi All,

Any idea's on where I can get a new 'Sim Tray' for the One X? Seem to have misplaced the original one and now the phone's useless without it!

Any/all advice will be greatly appreciated - I've tried chatting to the MTN Service Centre (To no avail), the guys there just gave me a blank stare...

i dev unlocked - rooted and running maximus

not bad at all. glad i didnt wait for htc or mtn to give us jellybean. i'd still be waiting

going to try the new maximus/insertcoin or trickdroid 3 next

ics battery life is good. honestly jellbean battery life is not much much better
especially if you have google now enabled.then it might be less
but jellybean is very nice to use and i dont regret going the custom rom route

tried maximus but Ordroid is the best i.t.o battery and stock look (just without the bloat), I get about about 45 to 55hrs of battery life.

Do u use your phone?
mmm, yes, don't understand the question though, using one's phone is a pretty normal assumption one should make... I have email accts, twitter, and RSS reader updating etc.

I don't believe 55hours unless the screen-on time is like 30 mins and connections were off when not in use

I don't have wifi on permanently (put it on when I need it), have data on permanently (but not 3G), and I have no reason to lie so I don't really care if you believe it or not jammio...

(but not 3G)

well duh that's why your battery lasts so long! 3G uses a big freaking chunk of battery life, but most of cannot deal with slow speed of EDGE - so not a viable way to extend battery life.

Switching off mobile data when in wifi range think we pretty much all do that

Only reason to go edge is in case someone wants to whatsapp you while out. Pretty impossible to do much more than that.

Not so unfeasible buddy.
I use edge when I use my phone to whatsapp or when it's idle. When i want to browse or do anything data intensive i switch to HSPA with a convenient toggle widget. Takes me 5 secs to toggle.

Ps. i have an S2, doesn't matter though.

well duh yourself isie, I was just offering an explanation to one of the other posters as to why my battery lasts quite long, so don't understand the 'duh', I am very much aware of the reason(s) why my battery lasts well, so using terms like 'duh' doesn't say much about your grasp of the context in which the post was drafted... duh!

Makes sense i do use a similar app (or same who knows) when I'm going long distance and not really worried about browsing speed, but day to day I'm happy with the battery life and charging once a day

Sheesh arent we a little menstrual today !
Since apparently i don't grasp the context of your post let me explain, how I and I assume a few others saw it:

You made it seem as if Ordroids the reason for great battery life
and i quote from your first post- look no mention of 3g being off

and your second response to if you use your phone - still no mention of 3g being off

and then only after further doubt do you mention the thing about 3g, the Well duh from me comes because hell you can have stock with all bloat ware and a bunch of other crap on and have network set to gsm and have a 40 + hour battery life. maybe if you mentioned that in your first post you wouldn't get a well duh.
So maybe before you get your knickers in a knot check how you post and maybe you wont get a well duh next time!

mmm isie, it seems you got your knickers knotted by initially responding with the original 'well duh', which ain't the most friendly or appreciative manner to start a reply, if you had just asked the questions you asked above I could have answered them all nice like and not all 'in reply to "well duh"... But I'm happy you get great battery life too on a fully bloated stock, Vodacom'ised' ROM. I have tried 3 or 4 of the custom JB ROMs and none of the others have great battery life irrespective of the status or type of my data connectivity, hence me saying that the great battery life I get is on the OrDroid ROM. Hope that clarifies things a bit better, have a good 1!

well duh - Slang term, meaning " obviously".
Relax and learn what the slang means before geting in a tiff about being friendly

well duh that's why your battery lasts so long! 3G uses a big freaking chunk of battery life
Translation:Obviously dear poster the reason your electrochemical cells last for some time is that the 3rd generation of mobile telecommunications technology has been known to use quite a large percentage of the energy stored with in the electrochemical cell of you mobile phone

Ps I dont nor have i said tha I have a vodacom branded phone.

And then s/he gets sarcy... geez, ok fine, I apologise for implying that you had a vodacom branded phone, I meant the comment in relation to vodacom branded HOX's in general, and thanks for the translation, it made things so much clearer (sic), but while "well duh" is still considered derogatory I still reaffirm that I NEVER mentioned anything about data (3G or otherwise) in my initial mail, so for you to go off on a "well duh" tangent in that regard (data connectivity etc.) was just 'duh'ish... I just made a comment about my phone having decent battery life on a specific ROM, if you wanted clarity on the how I attain such good battery life and asked, I would've given it with pleasure but that was not the original purpose of my comment (i.e. to get into the details of data connectivity etc. and their said/or implied impact on the electrochemical cells of my battery)....

Ive been sarcy from the start :D - cant beleive you missed that.

can we drop our fist fight and get back on topic any problems with Ordroids (except that it sounds like hemroids) ?

I gave up and flashed my HOX with Jelly Bean (Android Revolution) and it was definitely worth it

yip lets be buddies rather, much more beneficial... Ordroid's ROM... only thing lacking is theme'ing I guess (I don't really miss it but many do, Renovate ROM is the nicest looking JB ROM, but I'd say battery life is about 20% less than on Ordroid, but the ROM looks very nice indeed... other than that everything is peachy on Ordroid, very fast transitions etc. (almost instantaneous) and very responsive, So far so good for me...
